 Our Griffiths family start off in 1600's in Ruardean, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England, the name then was spelt Grifit, there have been a few variations with the spelling. The Griffiths' that we know most about all headed north and some on to New Zealand. A few of us are in contact with each other and we all come from GILES and SARAH MORGAN so please contact me and I can pass your e-mail on to whoever knows more about that particular branch. The Griffiths' that went to Chevington were related to my Mackenzies by several marriages. The Griffiths' throughout the generations have been mainly coalminers, the ones who were brave enough to leave family and friends and go to New Zealand became farmers.
